Quite frankly .. this exposes the hypocrisy at the heart of the SNP Government. Whilst Alex Salmond speaks of protecting Scottish jobs, Fiona Hyslop has ensured that 1000 jobs have been cut. - Kevin, Glasgow
This is another con perpetrated upon the Scots that has come to light. The SNP, and in particular Alex Salmond and Fiona Hyslop [the Education minister until 2010], continue to deny their responsibility in this failing education policy. Fiona Hyslop must GO! Salmond appointed her, he must sack her, and sack her NOW! She's not fit for purpose! - David, Ayr
I supported the SNP in 2007, thinking that an SNP government would be good for Scotland. I am a 6th year pupil at a Scottish high school. I have witnessed my school's attendance increasing steadily for the past few years yet there has been a number of teachers forced to leave and have not been replaced. My dad is a teacher as well, meaning that the SNP's cost-cutting policies, particularly in education, have additional significance for my family. The possibility that my dad may be made redundant, hanging like a storm cloud above our household - especially at the moment - I can only say that I have little sympathy for the SNP government's austerity measures. - Mike, Paisley
I am very angry that Scotland has lost 1,000 teachers in just one year. It is a very sad and depressing fact showing that the SNP administration is failing newly qualified teachers. I know a lot of people struggling to get a permanent full time teaching post (not that I would want to go into it myself!) but this lower class sizes promise is just another nail in the coffin for the SNP. At least Labour do not create false promises and are always on the peoples side. - Scott, Inverness
I am 14 years old and I would just like say I think its time the SNP did stand down as government as Alex Salmond always assures us he will if he doesn't get his own way but im not to hopeful as alex salmond cant deliver anything he says. Scotland clearly was doing a lot greater with a Labour governtment which will deliver their promises not an SNP government who are unable to deliver any of their promises. In the words of the SNP its time. - Gavin, Motherwell
I am at college studying Social Sciences and could be offerd a place at university that would give me a degree in Social Sciences and enable me to teach. By the SNP cutting teacher numbers i feel now that going to university may be a waste of my time. I think it is outragous that young people like myself are not wanting to go on to university due to the fear of not having a job at the end of it. - James, Glasgow
