SNP THREAT TO GLASGOW SOUTHERN GENERAL
Labour's Margaret Curran has demanded a guarantee from the Scottish Government guarantee that Glasgow's Southern General Hospital will not be delayed or cancelled if resources are diverted from capital budgets to pay for the new Forth Bridge.
Speaking on Newsnight Scotland, the SNP's Keith Brown repeatedly refused to confirm that the new Southern General Hospital would go ahead. Instead, he cast doubt on the project, saying: "I've not been able to say yet what projects might be jeopardised."
Glasgow Baillieston MSP Margaret Curran said:
"It is completely unacceptable that badly-needed projects such as Glasgow's new Southern General Hospital are being put in doubt because of the SNP's financial incompetence.
"I am deeply concerned by Nationalist MSP Keith Brown's refusal to confirm that this project will go-ahead on time. The SNP will not be forgiven for using schools and hospitals as political footballs.
"Nicola Sturgeon must immediately end the uncertainty over the new Southern General and give the people of Glasgow a guarantee that this vital project will go ahead as planned."
