SNP failing to stand up for the NHS
The NHS is failing to meet cancer waiting times, ambulance response times and it is falling short on staff sickness absence, according to a report published today.
Shadow Health Secretary Cathy Jamieson said:
"Nicola Sturgeon needs to take responsibility for the NHS's failure to meet key targets, on issues such as cancer waiting times. Scots deserve a government that will make the health service a genuine priority when times are hard.
"I am deeply concerned that the SNP are putting pressure on services by demanding further efficiency savings at the same time as they are imposing a real terms cut in health board budgets.
"SNP ministers are failing to pass on the 6.7% year on year increases that the UK Government is delivering for the NHS in England. Nicola Sturgeon should tell us where this money is being spent."
