Scottish Labour Spokesman on Economy & Skills John Park said: "Today’s report by the Fraser of Allander institute highlights the failure of the SNP government to get to grips with the recession. Alex Salmond should be straining every sinew to protect jobs and promote growth. "Instead, the SNP’s strategy for dealing with the recession has been to slash teacher training places, cut the grant to housing associations for new homes and tinker with the Scottish Futures Trust at the cost of 20,000 construction jobs. "It seems that the First Minister has got his priorities badly wrong. It is time that he put his pet projects to one side and led a national conversation about jobs rather than independence." 24/06/2009
Scottish Labour’s John Park has responded to the publication of today’s report by the Fraser of Allander Institute by calling on the Scottish Government to focus on jobs and the economy.
