Your NHS

Reducing waiting times: Under Labour, Scotland enjoyed the first guaranteed waiting times anywhere in the UK. From 18 months in 1997, Labour reduced this wait to just 18 weeks by 2007.

Saving more lives: Under Labour there was huge progress in tackling Scotland’s big killer. Deaths among the under 75s from cancer were down by 15 % from 1997 to 2007, from strokes by 40% and from heart disease by 45%.

Ask Margaret Curran a question

The NHS has provided generations of care for us all. It is our most cherished public service and is the fairest healthcare system in the world. It is undoubtedly Labour's greatest achievement. As the NHS turns sixty we need to think about how we made that happen and what we need to do in the future to keep the NHS strong for the next sixty years. What questions do you have about the future of our national treasure?”
