Labour's Shadow Health Secretary Cathy Jamieson has today called on Nicola Sturgeon to get serious about tackling the growing number of repossessions in Scotland.
"Vulnerable families who face losing their homes need support now. The Minister must act on the cross-party consensus and provide homeowners in Scotland with more protection."
"There should be a duty on courts to ensure repossession is a last resort and legislation must be in place to ensure 'sale and rentback' businesses hold a licence to weed out unscrupulous operators.
"Furthermore, Nicola Sturgeon must also look at extending the scope of the Mortgage to Rent Scheme to give more opportunities for people to make use of it."
