Do you feel the same way we do about the kind of Britain you want to live in?

A Britain where the economy is strong and stable; where there is a first-class health service free at the point of use; where education is always a priority; and where you and your family are treated equally and can feel safe and secure.

This is the Britain we are working hard to build.

Labour at Holyrood achieved a lot in the early years of the Scottish Parliament. We are proud of the steps we took to make Scotland a better place to live.

With Labour, Scotland has got better. We delivered a strong and stable economy with more people in work, low inflation and low mortgage rates. We invested £1 billion to rebuild or refurbish schools. We banned smoking in enclosed public spaces, introduced free eye checks for all and delivered free nursing and personal care for older people. We delivered on manifesto promises to tackle anti-social behaviour and introduced ASBOs to tackle anti-social behaviour in our communities, new powers to disperse groups and Parental Orders to make parents accept responsibility for their children.

Compare this to when the Tories ran the country: with boom and bust economics; workers being legally paid a pittance on just £1.20 an hour; child poverty doubled; chronic under investment in our schools and hospitals; and 3 million people unemployed.

With a new leader the Labour Party is moving forward to move Britain forward. Our goals are full employment; an end to child poverty; strong public services; and to continue tackling crime and anti-social behaviour. In the Scottish Parliament, we will oppose Nationalist plans which would damage Scotland, but we will also seek to work with the new government, and others, where we can agree measures which will build up Scotland.
