Johann Lamont is Labour's Deputy Leader in the Scottish Parliament. Along with Iain Gray, she was elected in September 2008 following a leadership election involving Labour supporters, members, elected representatives, and affiliated organisations and trade unions.
As well as her role as deputy leader, she has special responsibility for equalities matters in the Labour group in the Scottish Parliament.
A former teacher and housing minister, she has represented Glasgow Pollok since 1999. She lives in Glasgow with her husband Archie and two children Fay and Colin.
