Labour challenge SNP to do much more to help construction industry
Responding to today's announcement by the Scottish Government of £9 million for housing, Scottish Labour's Housing Spokesperson Mary Mulligan said:
"I welcome today's announcement of additional funds for housing, but the Scottish Government could do much more to help the construction industry.
"Across Scotland, hundreds of millions of pounds of investment and workers is being held back and people are losing their jobs because the Scottish Futures Trust is not fit for purpose.
"The most meaningful commitment that SNP Ministers could make to help the economy would be to scrap this unworkable scheme and allow projects to go-ahead using the tried and tested method of PPP."
