Helen Eadie
Helen Eadie was born in 1947, in Stenhousemuir. She has represented Dunfermline East in the Scottish Parliament since 1999. Helen was educated at Larbert Village, Larbert High, Falkirk Technical College and graduated from London School of Economics in 1970 (Certificate in Trade Union Studies - Industrial Relations Department).
Before becoming a Member of the Scottish Parliament, Helen worked as a member of the Fife Regional Council becoming the Deputy Leader and Chair of the Equal Opportunities Committee and then Fife Council Transportation Spokesperson. She has been an officer for the GMB Trade Union working for equal opportunities, political organisation and recruitment. She also worked on Jim Callaghan’s election team and was a parliamentary assistant for Alex Eadie MP (her Father-in-Law) and the late Harry Ewing MP.
When Helen is not pushing through bills, holding surgeries and championing the causes of her constituents, she likes to read, travel and swim. She also loves spending time with her husband, two daughters and grandchildren.
