Claudia Beamish is standing in Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale. She is a primary school teacher, and heavily involved in environmental campaigns. She is also currently the Chair of the Scottish Labour Party.

Thomas Docherty is standing in Dunfermline and West Fife. Thomas lives in Dunfermline with his wife Katie and their son. He is an account director with a communications consultancy, having previously worked for Network Rail, BNFL and as a research assistant.

Thomas' father-in-law is the Labour councillor for the Dunfermline North Ward. He is Chair of his local Residents' Association and in his spare time is studying for a degree in history from the Open University. He is a season ticket holder at Dunfermline FC.

Sheila Gilmore, a former long-serving councillor in Edinburgh will contest the Edinburgh East seat after Gavin Strang stands down from parliament at the general election.

Anas Sarwar is standing in Glasgow Central. Anas was born and brought up in Glasgow and works as an NHS dentist. He lives in the city with his wife Furheen.

Anas has been involved in several community based programmes and campaigns. In 1999 he campaigned with other party members and local people to get 80,000 signatures to save the Govan shipyard. Anas has been an active member of the Labour Party since the age of 16, and was the No.1 Glasgow Regional List candidate at the recent Scottish elections. He is also a member of the Party’s Scottish Policy Forum. 

He also worked in partnership with others in his local community to successfully campaign for more local facilities for young people in Pollokshields.

Margaret Curran is standing in Glasgow East. One of Scotland's best-known politicians, she has fought and worked for the people of the East End of Glasgow for all her life, as a social worker, campaigner and MSP. She came within 300 votes of beating the current SNP MP in the 2008 by-election and says she is standing again because she knows it is vital for Glasgow to have a Labour governement at Westminster.

Mike Robb is standing in Invernessm, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey. He is a well known voice in IT industry circles across the UK. Mike currently owns and manages an IT consultancy - working mainly with small businesses - and is a non executive director of two social enterprises.

He has been married to Gwen – a full time NHS nurse – since the early eighties. Mike and Gwen have two grown up children – James and Alasdair - both of whom have benefited from Scotland’s excellent state schools. Outside of work and family, Mike is an enthusiastic hill walker and climber committed to the protection of our outdoor environment as a member of the Scottish Ramblers, the BMC and The John Muir Trust.
