Kezia Dugdale
Kezia Dugdale is a regional MSP for Lothian.
Kezia is a member of the Local Government and Regeneration Committee and also the Subordinate Legislation Committee
She has a Degree in Law and a Masters in Scottish Social and Public Policy. For four years she worked in public affairs within higher education, firstly for Edinburgh University Students Association and latterly with the National Union of Students.
During this time she spear headed a number of campaigns including one against increased tuition fees for medical students, another tackling the stigma associated with mental health, a housing standards campaign and a national voter registration drive.
She moved on to head up the Parliamentary office of Lord George Foulkes MSP upon his election in 2007.
An experienced Labour activist, Kezia sat on the Scottish Labour Party’s Policy Forum from 2006 – 2008 as well as serving as an election agent to both Sarah Boyack MSP and Sheila Gilmore MP.
Outside of party politics, Kezia has a passionate interest in exposing and tackling the growing issue of homelessness in Edinburgh.
Kezia is a member of the Scottish Coop Party, Unite, THT and the Fawcett Society and regularly contributes to LabourList, ProgressOnline and the Scotsman’s “Steamie.”
